DOCKLINE - April 1999
FROM THE VICE COMMODORE:
In last month's Dockline I announced that TOBCA has its own website. To date the site has received over 450 visitors.
Thank you Chesapeake Bay Magazine for the plug in this month's editions (page 100)!
The Oyster Feast at the NERYC truly was a feast! They had 12 varieties of oysters and all the prime rib that one could indulge. TOBCA had 8 representatives on hand for what I feel was a terrific evening. I wouldn't think twice of returning to this event.
Soon we'll all be out on the bay, enjoying all she has to offer. Prior to the season getting underway, I've planned two seminars to be held at the next two meetings. On April 25 we will have a representative from the American Red Cross. He will be giving us life-saving, emergency medical response information, mostly water related. This is "hands on"!
The following month on May 23, we will be moving our meeting to McDaniels Yacht Basin. The focus of this seminar is fire prevention, and "hands on" how to use a fire extinguisher. Should you have a family member or a friend interested, please bring them along. It could save someone's life.
Let me see your face in the place.....
HIGH TIDINGS FROM YOUR FLEET CAPTAIN:
Boating Season is almost here! The 1999 summer cruise schedule is included in this newsletter. Note that the first boating event is May 1.
I've tried to incorporate the ideas and wishes of the club members. We have a fairly full schedule planned, but there are some open weekends, so if you have suggestions, tell me.
What I really need from you is to PLEASE SIGN UP for the boating events you plan to attend. I need this information for making reservations and for the raft-ups. It makes it easier for me to come up with "entertainment ideas" if I know how many will be there.
...So let me hear from you!
FROM THE MEMBERSHIP CHAIRMAN:
In the March Dockline we neglected to welcome new member Sharon Ann Krause. Our apologies and a belated welcome to Sharon. Also please note the correct spelling of the Sergeant's last name and their address.
We still have a few members who have not submitted their renewal forms. If we do not have yours, this is the last newsletter you will be receiving. Should you need a copy of that form please give me a call.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
| Reminder: Monthly member meetings are held on the 4th Sunday of each month at the North East, Maryland VFW. Changes will be published in the Dockline and on our web site. |
