DOCKLINE - November 2000
FROM THE COMMODORE:
Thank you to all that came out to the October meeting to vote in TOBCA's new bridge and for putting your faith in me to be your Commodore.
I would like to welcome our new bridge and give my sincere thanks to those that volunteered to serve as officers:
Also, a welcome to our new Board of Directors:
The 2001 Bridge has a lot of new ideas and plans for making TOBCA bigger, better and more fun, than ever before.
Dave Harris and Gary Kunnas are going to run the bus trip to the New York City Boat Show on Saturday, January 13,2001. The bus will be picking up passengers at the Crystal Inn, North East, Maryland at 8:00 a.m. It will make a stop in Mt. Laurel, NJ near exit 4 of the New Jersey Turnpike at approximately 9:00 a.m. TOBCA has run this trip for the last two years and last year we had to turn people down because the bus was full. So - Please make your reservations early! If we know the head count far enough in advance, we will be able to reserve a large enough bus to accommodate everyone.
There are lots of other plans in the "thinking" stage which my officers will present to you at the next meeting. At that meeting, I will also announce my appointed officers. One position that I know has definitely got to be filled and is currently vacant is Membership Chairman. If you are interested in helping out your club, please contact me.
The next meeting is December 3, 2000, at the VFW in North East, Maryland at 3:30 p.m. I would like all of my officers in uniform white for the group picture to be taken after the meeting. After the pictures have been taken, it is hoped that in the holiday spirit you will join us for dinner at the local restaurant.
FROM THE VICE COMMODORE:
October was a busy month. Had a great time on the frost bite cruise to Baltimore. Fells Point was as crowded as ever. Just can't get enough of Little Italy's dinners though.
I am looking forward to my new position as Vice Commodore. We are talking about arranging a bus trip to the New York Boat Show in January. More details will follow.
Yo Hales had a good idea for making up a cook book with all our recipes. Start sending recipes to Erni Heiser or email them to her at eheiser@kci.com. I already sent a couple that I have received from Candy, Nancy Rooks, Nancy Handzo, and Yo. So, everybody start looking for some favorite recipes.
FROM THE REAR COMMODORE:
Thank you for electing me as your new Rear Commodore. I will be looking for new members in the coming year, but have none as of this moment.
FROM THE FLEET CAPTAIN:
It will be hard to surpass this year's cruising schedule. Dave and Pat did a superb job.
As we are on our way to the two thousand one boating season, I would like to thank everyone for their vote of confidence as your new fleet captain.
I am looking forward to planning our new cruising schedule and would like to have your input.
I will be sending out a questionnaire asking everyone what would be the best time for our vacation cruise as well as ports to call upon.
I would like to see our vacation cruise include as many boats as possible.
Sunshine Report
Carol Faulkner is doing pretty good with the chemotherapy. Bobby took her for a ride to see the ocean and she went out and voted. She admits that she does not feel real great, but is hoping to make it to the December meeting.
